Day 1
Fly overnight to Johannesburg.
Day 2
Connect with a flight to Maun, before a scenic light aircraft transfer to the huge Selinda Concession in the Linyanti Wetlands. Here you will spend your first night at a permanent camp, with time for an afternoon game viewing activity.
Day 3
After a hearty breakfast you'll be taken to the canoe trail starting point on the Selinda Spillway. Over the next three days you will paddle roughly 45km along the Spillway, watching animals and birds along the bank and staying in simple but comfortable tented fly-camps.
Day 4
Along the way there will be regular stops to enjoy short walking safaris with your guide in suitable areas close to the banks. Walking and canoeing both give you a sense of the tranquillity and remoteness of the bush, which can be broken at any time if a predator makes its presence felt to the other animals.
Day 5
Another full day to advance serenely along the waters, with regular stops for refreshments and walks. The Selinda Concession boasts an outstanding range of birdlife and significant volumes of elephant, buffalo, antelope and other big game.
Day 6
Your memorable canoe journey ends today, with a transfer back to the permanent camp for a two night stay. After the last few days' relative exertion, you will enjoy time relaxing at the picturesque camp.
Day 7
Game drives will give you the chance to view larger numbers of more varied game than you were able to on foot or by canoe. The prospect of seeing predators like lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena will be significantly enhanced.
Day 8
This morning you will be taken to the airstrip for a light aircraft flight to Maun. It's then a short flight to Johannesburg before an overnight journey home.
Day 9
Arrive in the UK.

The Selinda Concession is one of the wildest, most game rich areas of the Linyanti Wetlands. The terrain consists of wide open plains, scattered tree islands and the Selinda Spillway, which stands barren for much of the year but flows when the Okavango waters flood down to the Delta after the rainy season. This is a perfect time to explore the Spillway by canoe, with mobile tented camps set up each night for a peaceful night of rustic comfort. With the relative exertion involved in traversing 45km of water, a stay in one of the reserve’s permanent tented camps at the beginning and end of the trip is a well-earned treat!
