The Kwara Concession on the northern fringes of the Delta is one of the most game rich of all Botswana’s reserves: bordering the Linyanti Wetlands to the north and the Moremi Game Reserve to the south, it is hemmed in by some of the most renowned wildlife hotspots in Africa. Kwara is one of only two camps in this large reserve, with huge areas of varied habitat to explore. The southern area close to camp is mainly wetlands, with swamps and channels ideal for mokoros and motorboats. Further north, the land becomes drier and more accessible for vehicles, where Kwando Safaris operate their game drives with a guide and tracker, increasing the chance of animal sightings and freeing up the guide to provide further detail . There are even outstanding game viewing opportunities from camp, with a lagoon and a wide open floodplain in clear view from the forested island on which Kwara is based.
Kwara Camp reopened in September 2019 having been completely rebuilt and whilst much more luxurious than its previous incarnation the fabulous location and activities remain unchanged. Accommodation is in nine large tents with lagoon views from spacious decks. As well as dining and lounge areas the camp also has 2 small pool areas at each end of the camp each with a small poolside bar.
